I drove the car 5 hours straight and was so sore after the drive I immediately removed them for some cheap corbeau fixed back buckets. They only cost around 900 for the pair. And are quite comfortable. I would rather sit in them than the plush seats in my platinum. As for the harnesses they are a must in a fixed Back bucket if your a skinny guy because the lap belt won't touch your waist. As was the case with me. They are mounted on a set of planted fixed seat mounts. And I wouldn't want to be any taller than I am at 5'10" because they are as far back as I am able to put them. The harnesses need to be mounted on a harness bar or a roll bar because If you were to be in an accident the force of the collision would crush your back from the belts pulling down on your shoulders, the seats are not engineered to take that kind of downward force and will more than likely collapse. I installed a 4 point auto power roll bar with harness bar. No cross beams or anything. And there is no way in hell that my head will hit it with the seat the way I have it. The bar is slightly behind the seat so if the seat was to break from the bracket would be the only way I would hit. I personally love the safety aspect of fixed back and a harness seat belt. As well as it is way more comfortable. But if your looking at digging around in your glove box while strapped in its not going to happen. Even changing the radio chanel is hard. Hope my input helps. Seems like all the other posts were anti harness/buckets. I am 110% for the fixed back and a 4 or 5 point harness. If your wanting the reclining racing seats Just keep the sock 3 point harness and upgrade the seats. The sides won't be as high so the lap belt will actually work.
